First Landscape Pictures...

Well, I said that I would post some pics that I have taken with my new camera, so, I have almost had my camera for a month, and though I haven't used it as much as I would have liked, I did take a few landscape pictures. None of them I am too proud about, but since I said I would post some...here goes nothing.

I think I like this one the best. I love the colors of the tree, grass, and sky. Most of those leaves have fallen of now, and I think it is snowing lightly outside right now. Wow, this year is almost gone.

I've gotten so used to using Lightroom 3 on my sisters computer, It is hard going back to the very small edits I can do in iPhoto. Oh well.

LIKE No More

Hey folks, have you ever, like, been around someone who uses 'like' incorrectly, like, a lot? =D Well, we had some people over for dinner who did just that. Now don't get me wrong, I say 'like' incorrectly once in awhile, but these people said it several times in one sentence. So, as the meal progressed, we started playing a game where we rang a bell that was in the middle of the table every time someone said 'like' incorrectly. You have to understand, this wasn't your average bell. This bell was VERY loud. It was a bell we got at a hockey game (the only hockey game I've been to, and we didn't buy it, we found it outside of the arena)
Our family has a bell that we sometimes ring to get people to come to eat, but the bell we used for this game was about four times louder. So, when you said like, someone would ring the bell. It was a fun game that made us really think about what we were saying. Maybe...even...thinking before...talking. The game caused people to be creative and say things such as 'quite similar to' and 'such as'. We had a good time.
Anyway, if you haven't seen this short video yet, it is worth watching.

Well, I forgot that a SD card would not come with the camera, so I really haven't done too much shooting with it yet. The good news is, an 8GB SD card should come Tuesday. It also means I will spend my time studying for midterms, which is something I really need to do. It still is a disappointment. Anyhow, the above picture is a picture of my new camera. Epic, isn't it?

Hey people, this is a test, I'm simply testing this Blogger app on my iPod, it seems pretty cool, and I think it will come in handy. And because I am posting anyway, I thought I would throw a photo up for kicks.

Apple's Latest Keynote + iPhone 4s

   So, as most of you know Apple had one of their annual keynotes where they updated several of their products. The biggest, and most anticipated announcement was the iPhone 4s. If you don't have time to watch the entire keynote, Apple made a cool video on the iPhone 4s which covers a lot of the new features. Click here to see it on Apple.

   Although the new 8mp camera and A5 possessor are cool, these were all expected changes. The coolest new thing is Siri. Everyone knows that Siri stole the show. It was so cool and looks very practical. I can't wait before it's not a beta and some of the other IOS devices can use it. There were several other cool things such as a white iPod Touch now, a new iPod nano, iCloud, and IOS 5. Some people were somewhat disappointed that the iPhone 5 did not come out with a completely redesigned hardware. Anyway, just thought I would share this.

Life, School, and the future of this Blog

Hey all, I have been doing a lot of school lately, and TONS of studying simply because I have mid-terms next week. Among my rather crazy life, it's great to get writing again. So, what is the future of this blog that hasn't seen a new post in over a year? This blog will continue to be my random collections of thoughts, but it will also be my random collection of photos as well. I should mention that I just bought a Cannon Rebel T2i and it hasn't even come in the mail yet. I am so excited about this new camera and I will post photos I've taken with it in the future. I should also mention that I'm not promising to post, this blog will most likely see three or four posts a month, and sometimes less, so keep your hopes low. Anyway, here's a picture of my new camera.....that I don't have yet.

A week or two back I was in the car with my little sister and she looked out the window and saw a cloud with the sun behind it and it lit up the edges oh the cloud. After she saw it, she pointed it out to me, "Wow, look at that cloud, doesn't it look cool?" Or something like that. It reminded me of one of my favorite Psalms, and one that I had memorized recently, which is Psalm 8.

O Lord, our Lord,

Yesterday I (my sister and brothers are also in it) had a orchestra concert with the Northern Illinois Christian Youth Orchestra. We played some really cool pieces like Amazing Grace, Hoe Down (by Aaron Copland), and God Bless America. We played several other nice songs but you probably haven't heard of them. When the concert was over and we were leaving, there was a really awesome lightning storm that was looked spectacular. On the way home I tried to count how many seconds I could count in between each sheet of lightning - I only got to three. After I got tiered of that I decided to take a nap, but it was like trying to sleep with someone blinking a dull flash-light at your eyes every other second. I had a lot of fun and I am about to do it all over again in an hour or so at a different church. ~Nathanael

I did some posts recently about the new pennies that came out last year, but I did not know what they were about and why they were doing it. So I did some research on it and found out that in 2009, the United States Mint issued four different one-cent coins to commemorate the 200 year anniversary of President Abraham Lincoln's birth and the 100th anniversary of the Lincoln cent. The reverse designs were unveiled September 22 at a ceremony held at the Lincoln Memorial while the obverse continues to assume the likeness of Lincoln currently on the one-cent coin. The reverse reflects four different designs, each one representing a different aspect of President Lincoln's life. Aspects include...

Birth and early childhood in Kentucky (1809-1816)
Formative years in Indiana (1816-1830)
Professional Life in Illinois (1830-1861)
Presidency in Washington, DC (1861-1865)

Toy Story 3

I went to the theaters yesterday and got to see Toy Story 3, finally! Its was great, and funny, and a awesome continuation of the last two movies. I think that it is my favorite PIXAR movie other than Ratatouille. The PIXAR short film, Day and Night, was also very funny.
One thing I noticed was that they did not show a trailer for there next movie like they normally do, so I wonder if they are a little behind on their next creation. ~Nathanael

I got asked a question on what 'E PlURIBUS UNIM' means in a comment, and since I was also curiuos what it meant, I did a little research on it. Heres what I found out. E Pluribus Unum is Latin for "out of many, one. E Pluribus Unum refers to the fact that the United States was formed as a cohesive single nation as the result of the thirteen smaller colonies joining together. E PlURIBUS UNIM used to be the motto for the U.S. and is on the Great Seal of the United States. Even though the motto has changed to, "In God We Trust," it still is on all U.S. coins.

Since I took a brake from blogging for a while I was unaware that Blogger had upgraded there design setup. I used to get very frustrated that I could not change some things on my blog like how big the side bar was and adding a picture to the back ground, and I even thought about swiching to Wordpress(until I found out that Wordpress did not do this either. Now, all these features and more have been added to a nice (but slow) section called Design where you can click on a button that is called template designer. As you might have noticed, I changed the template for this blog witch I like a lot better. Please comment if you have any reactions. ~NATHANAEL

2010 Penny

Two post back I posted about the 2009 penny and how it looked different. Now, just recently, I found a 2010 penny which looked even more different. You know how from 1999 to 2008 they made state hood quarters? Well, maybe the person who designs the US coins is working with the pennies now.

This is how it looks. I don't really like the way it looks. It just looks kind of bland with the shield and the scroll. Well, maybe next year they can come up with something a little more...creatively, historical.

They still (of course) have Abraham Lincoln on one side, but on the other side they got rid or the treasury and put the Captital building under construction. I guess I kind of always wanted two sections for my blog. One for photos, and one for thoughts. I never was able to figure out how to add a section to my blog. So, the only thing I could think of was to make a new blog and link to it. I did just that. If you look at the bottom of my header you can see a bar that has a link to my new blog. Than's Photo Collection. Of course, I haven't posted any pictures on it yet because of I've been a bit busy, but as soon I get the time I have some picks would want to post on it. Some of my readers might have wondered why my blog is called Than's thought collection. Well, Than, is my nickname. It's funny how people get nicknames. I came about getting mine when I was about one or two years old, when my brother, who is about eight-teen months older then I, had a bad time pronouncing my name, Nathanael. So he just said Than instead. Which if you notice, its part of my name, Na(than)ael. So now, almost all of my friends call me Than. One thing that I would like to do is make a tag where you say what your nickname is and how you got it. If anyone wants to do it, you can, but I don't want to tag anyone. Have a great sunday!

Head Bobbing Cow

I was outside the other day by a cows field (not ours) and was reaching across the fence to feed the cow some green grass. When I bent down to get some more grass the cows head moved right with me! I thought it was the most hilarious thing I had ever seen, so I ran inside to get the camera to film it. After I got the camera I tried to do it several times but it didn't work every time. What film I did get I made this short movie with it.

To answer SR's question: It was rather cold, and really windy so we weren't on the water much. We mostly did indoor things....accept, replace the storm door, clean out the paddle-boat, sweep off the roof, and pick up a bunch of sticks. And of corse we got to take a small ride in the paddle-boat.

At my Grandparents....

On Saturday we went up to Mn to see my granparents. They have a summer cottage on a Lake called Lake Milltona. Its a really nice place, only we haven't able to do much swimming because it has been vary cold out. (Well, not too cold, but too cold to swim. Broken Plane

Sorry I haven't been posting much, I have been vary busy with school. Well not any more... For me, school ended last Tuesday. So I will have more time to post. Now back to what I was going to post about.... About a month ago, I brought my RC (Remote Control) plane outside across the road into one of the fields by our house. I flew it a few times and even had some really good flights where I was able to land it smoothing!

What would happen is, ether I would throw off and my brother would fly it, or, he would throw it off and I would fly it. It all worked well until I wanted to do something interesting like a loop. So I was able to do a loop with my plane but as I was finishing the loop it stared to dive and I didn't have time to correct it. So it crashed and busted up the tall. The hole time my sister had the camera so I got it on video.

I just had an idea... What If we made a blog that was all about the lego world! And it had multiple authors. To do this, we would need to make a new blogger account and all of us become members of that account. When this happens, we can right from the prospective of a lego dude! Atlanta part 1

The first day of the trip we drove six hours to St. Louis to spend the night at our cousins house. That was really cool because I haven't seen my cousins in awhile. :D

The next day was a really long drive! We drove from St. louis to Atlanta in one day. I remember it being about 11 hours! Thankfully we have some vary nice friends in Atlanta named the Duffs. We had a great time at there house. We stayed that night at there house. Sense we planed to get there before the rest of the robotics team, we were able to do some sight-seeing! ;) There is lots of things that we did in between, but just going to talk about some places we went.

First stopped to have some lunch at a Thai restaurant called the Tin Drum. I had some really good Fried rice.

There will be a part 2 and 3 later.

My older brother and sister are in a robotics team and they went into two regionals. One in Chicago, and one in Milwaukee. They won the Milwaukee Regional, and that means they go to the Internationals witch are in Atlanta. I don't know if any of that makes any sense, but it means I'm going to Atlanta! I'm going to leave on Monday And I'm coming back next Monday. I wont be able to post. When I get back I'll post some pictures. So, bye Intel then!

Weird Story

I thought that this was funny, so I thought I would post it. So here's what happened. My mom told my brother to get a Deit Coke from the basement. So my brother went down stars and got two cans of pop, one for him and one for mom. Then he shook one of them, and mixed them up. So then my mom said, "You pick first." So then my brother picked of the two. Right away, my mom took the one that my brother picked out. So, my brother took the other can and they both opened them up. It happened to be that the can my took was the one that my brother had shook!

I know, it's weird....

The 50 State Quarters: 2 More to Get!

Harry! We almost have all the state quarters!:-D The only ones we are missing is Hawaii and Alaska. I think the Hawaii Quarter came out in November of 2008, and the Alaska state Quarter came out in October of 2008.

I cant wait until I get those last two Quarters! I wonder what is going to be put on the Quarter now?

Happy New Years yall!! I think it was last year, I heard about the big ball drop.

You know, the one in Times Square?

Then I thought to my self, Wow!

It sounds cool.

So New years eve came around and we turned on the T.V. to see the it.

I didnt know what was going to happen.

I thought they were going to drop a big glass ball and let it shatter...nope!!!!

If it doesn't shatter, what's the use of even dropping it???

Yeah, its just as boring staying up until 12:00P.M. Just to see a ball drop!

If you want to get snow on your blog you need to go to this website, then click on the link that says "Add snow effect to blog." After you have done that you should be abel to add the widget. If you have a light background, you wont be abel to see the snow very well.

This is a sweet illusion I found.

Stare at the picture of the tiger and then wait for the image to change. You should then see a photo of a tiger in full color (even though you are actually looking at a black and white pictures of a tiger!).

Wow, that is CRAZY!

If it didn't work, make sure you are starring at the dot in the middle.

The Limo Adventure

Just a couple weeks ago I got to go on a limousine. because my sister won a drawing at the public library. We had a great time! Here are some pictures of the adventure.

My sister could pick five friends that could come with her on the limo.

So she picked her two best friends, my best friend, me, and my brother.

I had the bacon big mouth burger. That was good!

At co-op on Tuesday I have 4 classes.

History, Grammar & writing ,Gym class, and math

My favorite class is writing.

In my writing class we first work on grammar, then we work on writing a story. Then we drawing pictures for the story, that part is my favorite.

The hardest class is math.

In my math class I am working on Saxon 8/7 in the 5th grade! That is hard.

I also enjoy history, because I like to learn about Americas presidents.

The new iPod Nano

You might have heard of the new iPod nano release. If you haven't, they have some pretty cool things. They have twice the gigabytage. It used to be that the standard version had 4 GB, but now it has 8 GB. The interface is basically the same, except for this new feature called "Genius". What Genius does is you find a song you like then you press the Genius button and it finds songs in your ipod that sound like that song. Its pretty cool. The new nanos are offered in 9 glossy cool colors! Here's the ad for the new "nano chromatic".

Billy Graham was returning to Charlotte after a speaking engagement.
When his plane
arrived there was a limousine there to transport him to his home in

"You know" he said, "I am 87 years old and I have never driven a
limousine. Would
you mind if I drove it for a while?"

"Billy gets into the driver's seat and they head off down the highway.

A pipe broke in our basement, and flooded the bathroom.

It damaged the floor, so we had rip up the floor.

The floor wasn't dry yet, so when we ripped up the floor the b

ottom half of the floor didn't come up, so I had to scrape it up, that was frustrating.

About one year ago we got a new vanity for this bathroom. Since we just had a flood in it, we thought that this would be a good time to install the new vanity. So we ripped out the old vanity, brought it outside, and smashed it with a sledgehammer!

That was fun.

I have been on vacation lately. First, I went up to Minnesota to see my grandparents for a week; that was so much fun! My favorite thing that I did was go tubing on Lake Miltona with my best friend.

Then we came home for one day and the next morning we left agin to go see my other grandparents in Michigan for a week. On the way up, we stopped in Wisconsin to drop off my best friend at his house.

After awhile we arrived in Michigan and had lots fun I really enjoyed using my grandpas BB gun.

Sadly, we are home now. But as they say; "There Is No Place Like Home".

"I had been doing Tech Support for Hewlett-Packard's DeskJet division for about a month when I had a customer call with a problem I just couldn't solve. She could not print yellow. All the other colors would print fine, which truly baffled me because the only true colors are cyan, magenta, and yellow.

For instance, green is a combination of cyan and yellow, but green printed fine. Every color of the rainbow printed fine except for yellow. I had the customer change ink cartridges. I had the customer delete and reinstall the drivers. Nothing worked. I asked my coworkers for help; they offered no new ideas.

After over two hours of troubleshooting, I was about to tell the customer to send the printer in to us for repair when she asked quietly, "Should I try printing on a piece of white paper instead of this yellow paper?"

Ha Ha! this next one is my favorite one.

"A pilot, Michael Jordon, Bill Gates, the Pope, and a pizza delivery man were all in a plane together traveling through stormy conditions.

Suddenly, the pilot ran back to the passengers and announced that lightning had hit the plane, and they were going to crash in a matter of minutes. "There are only enough parachutes for four of the five of us," he announced. "Since I'm the pilot, I get one!" After saying this, the pilot grabbed a parachute and jumped out of the plane.

"I'm the world's greatest athlete," proclaimed Michael Jordon. "This world needs great athletes, so I must live." Michael Jordon then grabbed a parachute and leaped out of the plane.

"I'm the smartest man in the world," bragged Bill Gates. "The world needs smart men, so I must also live!" Bill Gates grabbed a parachute and jumped out of the plane.

At this point, the Pope began to speak to the Pizza delivery boy. "I have lived a long life compared to you, and you may take the last parachute. I will go down with the plane."

"You don't have to do that, replied the pizza delivery guy. Bill Gates just jumped out with my backpack!"

Trip Out East Part 4 (Philadelphia Fun)

We just drove into Philadelphia, and we had to find a place to eat. So we stopped at Pat's.

I had never a Pat's Cheese Steak, it surprisingly delicious! It was also cool because Geno's Cheese Steak its competitor was right across the street from it. And also, at the very spot of the restaurant, the movie "Rocky", was shot in 1976. And we were right there!

Tight parking.

After a very delicious lunch, we wanted to go sightseeing.

But finding a parking place in Philadelphia was not as easy to find.

After much looking we finally found a suitable parking place but it had a time limit sign and we had to park behind the sign in our fifteen passenger van. Which as you now that would make it a vary vary tight fit! And it was not cheap!

But even with all that trouble I still had so much fun.

The bartender, confused, tells the ducks that no, his bar doesn't serve grapes. The duck thanks him and leaves.

Again, the bartender tells him that, “no, the bar does not serve grapes, has never served grapes, and, furthermore, will never serve grapes.” The duck, a little ruffled, thanks him and leaves.

The next day, the duck returns, but before he can say anything, the bartender begins to yell: ''Listen, duck! This is a bar! We do not serve grapes and if you ever ask for grapes again, I will nail your little duck beak to the bar!''

The duck is silent for a moment, and then asks, ''Got any nails?''

Confused, the bartender says “no”!

Today I would like to talk the Vietnam Memorial.

History about the Vietnam war;

The Vietnam War was the longest war in which the United States took part. The war began in 1957 and ended in 1975. At that time, Vietnam was separated into Communist-ruled North Vietnam and noncommunist South Vietnam. North Vietnam wanted to end U.S. support

of South Vietnam and to unite the north and south into a single nation. The United States and the South Vietnamese army tried to stop them.

I just got back from Washington D.C.; that place is so cool. it is like the best vacation spot in the U.S!!. there is so much to see. Here are some places that I went to in D.C. (Washington Monument), ( Jefferson Memorial) (that was so cool you could see the white house in front of it,) (Lincoln Memorial), and my favorite of all.. The Library of Congress. It was amazing! the architecture and the design on the ceiling is amazing.
