Trip out East! part 1

I just got back from Washington D.C.; that place is so cool. it is like the best vacation spot in the U.S!!. there is so much to see. Here are some places that I went to in D.C. (Washington Monument), ( Jefferson Memorial) (that was so cool you could see the white house in front of it,) (Lincoln Memorial), and my favorite of all.. The Library of Congress. It was amazing! the architecture and the design on the ceiling is amazing.
Coming up.. Prat 2 of Trip out East! stay tuned.

Than,
It WAS a great vacation, and I'm glad you liked it so much.

Grammar notes: When you join 2 independent thoughts, you need punctuation.

For example, this is your first sentence in 3 acceptable ways:

I just got back from Washington D.C.; that place is so cool.

or ... D.C., and that place...

or D.C. That place... (2 separate sentences)

When you introduce a list, use a : (colon)

Here are some of the places that I went to in D.C.: Washington Monument, Jefferson Memorial. That was...

Library of Congress (capitalized)
